Step Bezel vs. Bezel

In this class you will learn how to creating a step bezel setting for a faceted stone. A step bezel is a setting featuring an internal ledge, shelf, or “step” that acts as a built-in seat to support a gemstone. You will solder the setting to a 10 gauge half round ring shank. You should leave the class with a beautiful custom ring. We will have a variety of stones available for purchase that are oval/round and 5-10 mm in diameter. If you’re wanting to bring in your own stone please let us know the sizing, just to make sure it will fit within the parameters of the course. For flat back cabochons we recommend our build a bezel course!

What if I don’t have jewelry experience?

We ask that you please come in with pre-existing jewelry making experience. This course is teaching a technique that requires you to have existing bench abilities. If you’re looking for a beginner course to get you started. We recommend our Benchwork Basics course.
