Class Overview
Celebrate the Halloween with by making some spooky jewelry! You will be using 2 different introductory wax working techniques in this course. Using soft sheet wax you will create a small ghost charm that can be cast in sterling silver or bronze (metal is sold separately). You will also inject a mold made of small animal bones and shape this into a ring! You may also cast the bones and use them to create a different kind of jewelry, we just think it would be really cool if you make a bone ring.
What You’ll Learn
Students will be introduced to the basics of wax working, including shaping sheet wax and injection wax, and adding wax wire to turn your creations into a wearable charm with a jump ring. Jaime will guide you step-by-step, making this class approachable even if it’s your very first time. Once your model is complete, it will be prepared for casting—giving you the satisfaction of seeing your wax design become wearable jewelry one week from the class.
Materials Provided
Your kit includes all tools and supplies for wax carving, as well as the casting service for your finished piece. Please note: casting grain (metal) is not included and must be purchased separately. This allows you to choose the metal you’d like your charm to be made in.
