Casting Course Overview

A little less intensive than Casting Intensive

Hey guys we heard your qualms! We wanted to make the casting process more accessible thats why Jason, for the first time ever. Will be teaching a night time casting course. In this he will cover the basics of lost wax carving, working with hard wax only using a subtractive method. You will cast your own pieces once, learning the investment and pouring process. He will end the course with basic polishing.

What You’ll Learn

  • Subtractive Techniques: Learn how to carve wax by hand using traditional tools and methods to develop refined, sculptural forms.

  • Spruing and Investing: Understand how to properly prepare your wax models for casting using investment materials.

  • Burnout and Casting Process: Gain hands-on experience with the kiln, vacuum caster, and centrifuge casting your own pieces in metal.

  • Finishing Techniques: Learn basic cleanup and finishing steps

    Course Does not include:

  • Professional level finishing
  • Additive Techniques using softer wax
  • Advanced techniques, like stone setting in wax. All picture examples in listing that include stones are more advanced techniques, if you’re interested in this specifically we suggest learning carving first and then scheduling a private lesson for this skill.
