Discover Upcycling
Upcycling is reusing discarded objects or material in such a way as to create a product of higher quality or value than the original. In this course Gina will teach you how to do just that. Do you have a broken pendant or just one of a missing pair of earrings laying around? Then this is the class for you!
What You’ll Learn
You will learn how to make jewelry that’s sitting in the bottom of your jewelry box taking up space into a wearable piece again. Gina will walk you through a variety of ways you can repurpose these pieces. She will bring items she uses to improve her own upcycled jewelry pieces.
Gina will be showing a wide array of skills based on the pieces brought in, she will go over drilling, making wire connections, and adhesion.
Please note, this is not a jewelry repair class. We kindly ask that you leave your broken fine jewelry at home. For broken gold/sterling silver chains we highly recommend taking our micro welding course!
Who Should Join This Class?
Crafty people who love to repurpose items and give them a new life! This course is designed for anyone, Gina wants to give the skills for people to be able to do this to any pieces going forward. If this class spikes your interest in jewelry making consider taking our benchwork basics course or to ease you into jewelry making our ring bands class.
