Benchwork Beyond: Building on Foundations

Tuesdays and Thursday, 6pm – 9pm (6 sessions)
Tuition: $720 + $50 Materials Fee (tax included in materials price)
This course is ideal for students who are comfortable with basic sawing and soldering skills—making it a great next step after our Benchwork Basics: Jewelry Foundations. We’ll expand on those fundamentals and introduce intermediate metalsmithing techniques including sweat soldering, working with mixed metals, roller printing, stamping, prong and tab settings, and professional polishing.
Mixed Metal Layered Pendant with Prong Setting
Learn to add texture with roller printing and stamping, layer metals using sweat soldering, and set stones with prongs.
Tab-Set Cabochon Pendant
Design and create tab settings for cabochons, explore variations in tab shapes and integrated bails, and master secure stone setting techniques.
Recommended for: Those with basic bench skills – sawing, soldering, and filing
